This series is a commentary on the struggle for independence and self determination. It attempts to capture the feeling of pent-up-hostility-derived-from-frustration-derived-from-ineffectual-effort that reverberates between a hatred of self and that of perceived injustice from an external world.
Each piece represents the silent scream of a compromised life. Although the figures seem strong and powerful, they rage in futility against unseen forces – shouting into the wind. They are also each alone, lacking the ability to form alliances or maintain social cohesion toward a common end. The importance and momentum of their declarations to the world dissolve into singular diminutive characters.
